Overview

0 -> 1 Product . Voice-First . 1 Designer .Multimodal Sentiment Analysis

VIVV is a pre-seed startup that grew out of its founder's decade at Google. His vision was to build a voice-first social platform around a fundamental question : what if your reputation was built entirely on how good you made people feel?

VIVV tracks something harder to fake and more meaningful to earn — spoken gratitude.

Problem

The me-first trap

Legacy social media platforms trap users in performative self-projection. You perform to get attention, but there is no mechanism to be valued for what you do for others.

The recognition gap

Humans have a deep need to be recognized for their good deeds — yet no digital infrastructure exists to capture this.

The evaporation of impact

The meeting ends. The call drops. Someone helps you, then turns and walks away. There was something you meant to say — but the moment slipped by before you could catch it, Typing it out later just feels hollow.

Challenges

How do we make act of kindness non-performative ?

Building a public profile that grows based on gratitude received risks creating a new version of exactly the same problem.

The design had to make genuine connection visible and make the reward impossible to obsess over at the same time.

How do we understand an act kindness had happened ?

How to make your device sense a conversation or a meeting just happened without sneaking into user privacy.

How do we reduce the Cognitive Load of grouping 24 character architype ?

Every voice note of gratitude is analyzed and mapped to one of 24 character strengths — drawn from the VIA Institute on Character — to help users understand the specific qualities others recognize in them. Over time these interactions build a picture of personal transformation.

Design Highlights

The nudge

Screen-off duration, motion transition, phone orientation, time of day, notification backlog , combined into a Social Presence Score.

No Bluetooth. No location. No camera access. Just the difference between how your phone behaves during a human moment and how it behaves when you're alone.

When the score crosses a threshold, VIVV delivers a silent haptic - a quick moment of Gratitude.

The push-to-talk capture

A lightweight window to record gratitude note.

The character archetype tag

The AI reads the emotion underneath and distills it into one of three human truths.

Seen

Someone noticed you

Held

Someone supported you

Lifted

Someone inspired you

The shoe-box

"Who was I six months ago, who am I now, and what shifted between then and now?"

The Shoebox is a personal character growth tracker, built entirely from what others have said about you — analyzed, interpreted, and surfaced as a combination of visual narrative and written narrative over time.

The social credit score

VIVV — What others have verified about your character

Nod — What you earn for noticing good in others

Your score rises with every verified moment of kindness and gently settles when you step away — shown not as a number, but as a living ripple. Because people are not metrics.
